Teams and Controversial Changes

cartoon churchI have an acquaintance who is a member of a church that is facing a declining congregation and a tentative team has been formed, so he says, to explore ways to not only stop the decline (outside of parishioner deaths) but also devise ways to add mew members.

I mention this because it related to forming and growing teams and how sometimes those teams have to face difficult choices. An article in the April issue of Inc magazine addresses exactly that situation and I encourage you to read it.Here is the link. It’s entitled “Embrace the Pain of Pruning.” Also within the article, the author references a book entitled Divine Renovation. That too may be worth a read.

Has anyone had any experience growing a church’s membership?
