As bloggers we are all aware that we need to get out the word to potential followers, subscribers and fellow believers so we don’t feel like the proverbial poet in the garret hoping that the world is ready for his masterpiece.
And there are plenty of sources on-line and in print that will offer ways to get the world’s attention for your blog through SEO (Search Engine Optimization.) I have not purchased any, although I have read numerous online articles and have adapted some techniques.
But here’s my point. I like WordPress.com because it is free, serves my current purposes and has some great (free) resources. Specifically, there is a recent resource posted on WordPress.com entitled “All About SEO on WordPress.com.” You may be pleasantly surprised to learn that:
- You don’t need a plug-in for SEO
- The more tags and categories you use for a post, may be worse for Google
- SEO does not require a strategy and possibly an expert
Could be some eye-opening and free information whether you blog alone or as part of a team. Take a look and tell us what you found useful.
