How Many Hats Do You Wear?

As a person in business, especially if you are a solo entrepreneur, you wear so many hats.  You have all the responsibility to keep your business moving forward.  Of course, we are promoting starting up a collaborative blog to help you promote your business, because with a team, not all of the post writing falls on you.  Thus, easing the number of hats and giving you help with the promoting that’s necessary to stay afloat in today’s social media world.

If you have never written a blog post, just the thought of saying something that the whole world could see, may make your knees knock.  Here is a little trick to help you get started. Find another blog or two that are writing about something relating to your business and make a comment.  Not only will this give you experience with a “small post”, but it is also a great way to promote your business.  If someone likes your comment, they can link back to your website or blog.

Use Google or any search engine to find blogs relating to your business that are asking a question and looking for contributors.  It is surprising how many of these types of blogs are out there.  As an example, I subscribe to Dr. Shannon Reece’s blog and she asks a question about business once every week.  We work with small businesses, so this is a great place for us to post an answer.

Go to http://wp.me/pKJr1-1sF , to see the example (my answer is #20).  She has a huge following, so what a great way for possible new contacts to find us.

This is your challenge this week:  Make one comment or answer one question on a blog this week and send us the link so we can follow and share what you are doing.  This is going to be fun!!
