Neighborhood Teams

Guess it was bound to happen. If you talk about virtual teams, and then social media which can be used to create teams, why not bring it down to the neighborhood level? Someone has. It’s called Nextdoor.com. Here is an excerpt from the press release.

“Nextdoor.com allows neighbors to form online groups to share such information as babysitter recommendations, leaf collection and events. The information comes in updates, Facebook style, but also has tabs that allow for easy retrieval of tips on things such as good handymen or items for sale.

Co-founder Nirav Tolia is betting there is room for yet another social network. Just as people who use Facebook for social reasons may also used LinkedIn for professional ones, neighbors want a separate service tailored to them.”

This is not an endoresment, just an observation. Comments?
