This article from Career Builders Blog, The Work Buzz, started me thinking about other ways you can increase your odds of success in anything that you do. Having a Mentor is one way, but it can be tricky to find a really good Mentor. Check out this blog for some ideas about finding a good Mentor.
Another way to increase your odds of success would be to create your very own team. We call it an Advisory Team.
This team could be made up of people in your field, but I agree with the article, don’t choose your boss. If you need marketing advice, why not add someone who knows marketing to your team. If you need to learn social media, why not add someone who knows all the ins and outs of social media. Just keep adding a few people to your team that can help you with the answers that you need. Keep your team between 3 – 6 people that are willing to help.
